In Mid 2004 the Pennsylvania legislature legalized slot machines at 14 different locations throughout the state: two hotel resorts, five stand-alone casinos, and seven racetracks (racinos).

The traditional stand-alone casinos in Pennsylvania are allowed to have up to 5,000 machines each. The hotel resort licensees, however, are only allowed up to 600 machines in their casinos.

All Pennsylvania casinos offer such games as: blackjack, roulette, slots, video poker, craps, three card poker, mini-baccarat and Pai-gow poker. Select casinos offer such games as: poker, four card poker, baccarat, Texas hold’em bonus, ultimate Texas hold ‘em, pai gow, let it ride, Spanish 21, big 6 wheel, Mississippi stud, Sic-Bo, and casino war.

All Pennsylvania casinos are open 24 hours a day. The minimum gambling age is 21 at casinos, and 18 for pari-mutuel betting.
